General Daniele Tei visits the Regional Command West in Herat. General Tei, accompanied on this occasion by the Commander of the Joint Air Task Force, Colonel pilot Maurizio Colonna, subsequently met with all the personnel of the Air Force employed in the various branches of the Regional Command West present on the theatre and congratulated them on the excellent results achieved during the mission. Since the beginning of the year, 1,250 hours of flight have been flown by the Tornado and AM-X fighter jets, almost 1,200 by the C 130 J and C 27 J transport aircraft, over 1,400 by the Predator unmanned aircraft and more than 400 by the rotary wing aircraft of the Air Force, in addition to an additional 480 hours flown by the Navy’s helicopter assets. The visit concluded with a wishful toast held at the hangar that houses the AM-X, the bomber aircraft that perform reconnaissance missions at the Theatre to support intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance requirements for the Regional Command West.
