In the presence of Lieutenant General A. Schnitger, the prestigious annual awards for personnel participating in the ENJJPT program were presented. The awards, divided into different categories, were presented to personnel who distinguished themselves throughout the year for commitment, competence, and professionalism following an analysis conducted by the leadership of the 80th Flight Training Wing, which hosts the ENJJPT program at the Texas base.
As part of the various awards, two Italian Officers, instructor pilots, were also recognized as Flight Commander of the Year: Major Michele D. and Captain Massimo V., confirming once again the level of excellence achieved by the personnel of the Italian Air Force even in international contexts.
General Schnitger, Commander of the Royal Netherlands Air Force, during his speech congratulated all the personnel awarded for the exceptional results achieved, encouraging them to be proud of the recognition received, a visible sign of careful and concrete command action by the leadership of the ENJJPT program.
The RAMI of Sheppard, established in September 1983 and placed under the command of the Commander of the A.M./3rd Air Region of Bari, has the task of monitoring the implementation of the instructional programs for pilot trainees in training at the ENJJPT and JSUPT (Joint Specialized Undergraduate Pilot Training) programs, contributing to the flight training of the trainees of the Nations participating in the ENJJPT program through the presence of pilot instructors. The RAMI also administers and provides logistical support to the personnel of the Armed Forces, maintaining contact with the Air Educational and Training Command and the National Authorities.
To date, more than five hundred Italian military pilots have obtained their flight certificate at the Sheppard base.
