The initiative was promoted by the Ministry of Defense to promote the transparency and integrity of public administrations towards citizens. The opening of Palazzo Aeronautica, in the year of the 90th anniversary of the establishment of the Armed Forces, was intended to be an opportunity for direct contact with citizens, in order to explain the activities of the Air Force in the context of society, as well as to trace the most important milestones in the history of military aviation. In this continuous balance between tradition and renewal, which has always been part of the genetic code of the Air Force, we also understand the activities of recovering, preserving, and, as in this case, exhibiting places, materials, and documents that are part of the historical and artistic heritage of the nation.
From 13:00 to 19:00, with access from Via Gobetti n. 3 (Rome), dedicated guides were available to visitors, also in English, for the screening of films illustrating the operational activities of the Air Force, as well as the distribution of historical and documentary material about the Air Force Palace. Reserved access for the disabled has been provided.
