Four “musician” members of the Air Force attended the course at the SSAM Al corso, which has now reached its ninth edition. Four Marshals, winners of a specific public competition for the recruitment of three orchestral groups, and an archivist from the Air Force Band participated in the course. The purpose of the module is to provide basic military training for Sub-Officers, necessary for knowledge of the rules, procedures, and directives governing the “status” of a military member. The School Commander, Colonel Felli, in his farewell address, complimented the participants on their brilliant educational achievements and expressed words of good wishes for their future in the Armed Forces. In the sober ceremony of farewell, the musicians performed some military-themed repertoire for the staff of the School’s permanent cadre and for some guests. The School of Military Specialists, which this year marks the 65th anniversary of its establishment in Caserta, provides the basic military, cultural, technical-professional and moral training for the Specialists (Sergeant’s Cadets, Sergeants and Volunteers of the Permanent Force), the non-directive personnel of the Armed Forces interested in a process of professional reconversion/qualification and the “Aircraft Maintainers” of other Armed Forces and Police Forces. The School, in addition to its institutional activities, is currently also involved in the organizational preparations for the 1st National Assembly of the Military Specialist of the Air Force, which will be held in Caserta on September 28 and 29, 2013.
