Sunday 8 May: success for the Italian Rhythmic Gymnastics team in the World Cup speciality finals. In the 5 balls, however, Emanuela Maccarani's gymnasts climbed onto the second step of the podium (27.350 pts) behind Belarus. The home team came third. Overall, the Azzurre closed the prestigious Deriugina Cup, valid as the sixth event of the World Cup Series 2011, with three medals. In fact, in addition to today's two, yesterday's first place in the all-around was added. With an overall score of 55.600 (the result of two impeccable routines, 27.450 in the 2 hoops and 3 ribbons and an outstanding 28.150 in the 5 balls), the world champions were almost three points ahead of Belarus, who were second with 53.900.
