On Tuesday 17th May, Professor Lo Muzio and Professor Lorusso held a conference on oral tumours and periodontal diseases. Professor Lorenzo Lo Muzio, president of the Dauno university's faculty of dentistry, highlighted all possible strategies to promote the prevention of pathologies affecting the oral cavity, particularly concerning neoplasms.
Following this, Prof. Lucio Lorusso gave his talk on periodontal diseases, illustrating these frequent and very common types of pathologies, which are not always promptly recognised and adequately treated. At the end of the event, there was time for questions from the staff present. The numerous questions received timely and exhaustive answers, satisfying curiosity and providing food for thought for further exploration prompted by the conference's topic.
Lieutenant Colonel Raffaele Orsitto, Head of the 32nd Wing's Infirmary, in thanking the distinguished speakers for their availability, highlighted how such health-focused outreach activities are essential for increasing everyone's awareness of the potential health risks one may face. This allows for practical medical prevention measures to be put in place, deriving tangible benefits from the useful advice learned, including the modification of any incorrect lifestyles.
