On Saturday 21st May, Senator Schifani was welcomed at the Lampedusa Air Force Detachment by Lieutenant Capece.
The President of the Senate congratulated the Air Force personnel on the excellent work done, their spirit of sacrifice and the constant and ceaseless logistical support provided to all personnel employed in rescue operations, an appreciation that Senator Schifani wrote in the Unit's Visitors' Book.
