The course was held at the 3rd Air Wing from February 24 to 28 in Villafranca di Verona
Normally, this training activity is intended for M&T personnel already qualified (Movement and Transportation) to which, in order to renew the IATA qualification (International Air Transport Association), a technical and professional update on the air transport of dangerous goods is provided – carried out both by military and civilian carriers – through modules that cover industry regulations and directives, as well as the management and related embarkation procedures provided for.
The course, which is taught by instructors and teachers from the Armed Forces Departments and from companies accredited to issue national and international licenses, is part of the numerous instructional and qualification activities for the M&T sector, of an inter-service and for the Italian Air Force, managed by the COI and the Logistics Command – Support Service.
Moreover, in this context, the 3rd Squadron is designated as APOE/APOD (Air Port of Embarkation/Debarkation) national for the material and personnel assigned to the various operations in which the Military Instrument is engaged, guaranteeing all the airport services indispensable for the management and support of military and civilian aircraft.
