The Commander of the Army Aviation Training Center (AVES) congratulates himself on the training activity carried out at the Flight School. The visit began at the 208th Flight Group where General Mazzieri met the fifteen Italian Army trainees currently undergoing selection at the Flight School in Frosinone. The course consists of seven Officers from the Military Academy of Modena and eight Sub-Officers from the Army Sub-Officers School. Subsequently, Brigadier General Giancarlo Mazzieri visited the INSIAU (Interactive Instructor Training for Officers) classroom of the Professional Training Group where the functionality of the Course was demonstrated.“e-learning”Thanks to which the trainees study through an advanced interactive system that allows a direct relationship with all the teachers of the individual professional subjects. The system, unique in the Armed Forces regarding the Flight Schools, also allows a considerable saving of economic resources by guaranteeing the possibility of carrying out part of the theoretical training at their respective units (distance learning). At the Multimedia Classroom, Colonel Leonardo Barone presented a Briefing introducing the Department and its activities, going into detail about the stages of the delicate and complex training process that the Pilot Trainees must follow. This process includes a first theoretical phase at the Professional Training Group and a second theoretical/practical phase at the 208th Flight Group. An important innovation introduced in 2014 is the use of the Flight Simulator during the various training phases for the acquisition of the Military Pilot’s Certificate for Helicopters and the qualification on Helicopters. In September 2013, a Flight Simulator was assigned to the 72nd Wing. This instrument plays a complementary role in the training of Helicopter Pilots as it allows reproducing the various flight phases, thus providing a significant training enhancement. The meeting concluded with the signing of the Honor Roll in the Office of the Commander of the 72nd Wing and with the promise of further meetings.
At the end of the visit, General Mazzieri expressed his appreciation for the work and the daily efforts of all the personnel of the 72nd Squadron, the only Basic Helicopter Flight School in Italy, to which the task of training helicopter pilots for all the Armed Forces and all the Armed Forces of the State has been entrusted.
