On Thursday, 26th May, Admiral Luigi Binelli Mantelli's familiarisation activities focused on the training aspects of aerobatic flying. The visit covered the facilities of the Frecce Tricolori, which were presented by Lieutenant Colonel Marco Lant, Commander of the National Aerobatic Team (PAN). The activity continued with a briefing on the operational procedures adopted by the pilots, aimed at training. During the visit, Admiral Binelli and General Tosi were able to take part in a pre-planned aerobatic training flight, thus experiencing first-hand the training reality of the National Aerobatic Team. At the end of the visit, Admiral Binelli Mantelli thanked the Italian Air Force for the opportunity to gain close insight into an operational reality of the highest professional importance, such as that represented by the PAN. He also expressed his very strong appreciation for the absolute quality that the Team has always demonstrated, emphasising how Italy continually needs positive examples, professional seriousness, as well as physical and moral courage, of which the PAN is an excellent synthesis.
