The Air Force participated with a stand at the event held at the Fiera di Roma. During the four days of the event, two-wheel enthusiasts also had the opportunity to get closer to the world of aviation, through the stand that the Italian Air Force set up inside one of the pavilions of the Fiera di Roma, hosting, among other things, the flight simulator of the Frecce Tricolori and the exhibition of the Farfalle Azzurre. Numerous young people, after riding the mini motorbikes and mountain bikes, took seats inside the PAN flight simulator and took on acrobatics and maneuvers, earning themselves the much-anticipated “Pilot for a Day” certificate.
But the most exciting moment was on Friday 8th March, when the Air Force rhythmic gymnastics team, Bronze Medallists at the London Olympics and three-time World rhythmic gymnastics Champions, performed on the “Day on the road” stage.“It's nice to introduce our sport to a world so different and far from our own.”the rhythmic girls said “[...] we had fun and hope to perform again at future events”Precision, concentration, and determination, combined with the elegance of the Blue Butterflies, thrilled the audience present at the Italian Air Force stand.
Even the most famous stunt riders in the world, after performing their real-life stunts, have treated themselves to the simulated flying experience: the young Polish stuntman Rafal Pasierbek, winner of two consecutive European and American titles, Chris Pfeiffer, multiple world and European stunt champion, as well as Michele Pirro, a State Police rider who will compete in the next Moto GP championship.
Inside the A.M. stand, enthusiasts could also admire a model of the Eurofighter Typhoon, an AMX aircraft, and a pilot in “combat ready” gear, all provided by the Historical Museum of the Italian Air Force in Vigna di Valle (RM), as well as have their questions and requests for information answered by staff from the Historical Office and Aeronautica Magazine.
