The 70th Wing selects and trains future military pilots for the Air Force, Armed Forces, State Armed Corps, and other Nations. The training course concluded at the end of a long and intense training period, developed in three phases with over two hundred flight missions. In particular, in addition to the two phases common to all pilot trainees, which concern obtaining the aeroplane pilot licence and advanced training, the Officer completed the third phase with the multi-engine P.166-DP1 aircraft, used by the Guardia di Finanza flight units.
The awarding of a military pilot's wings represents not only a fundamental milestone in a pilot's professional life and the concluding moment of a demanding training cycle, but it is also recognition of the work carried out in various capacities by all the Wing's personnel, a work of teamwork and synergy.
For around sixty years, the 70th Wing has been selecting and training future military pilots for the Air Force, the Armed Forces, the State Armed Corps, and personnel from other nations.
