On Monday 16th May, General Biagio Abrate, after taking part in the ceremony, attended the MNBGW command change ceremony, and met with the staff of AMIKo airport.
Upon his arrival, General Abrate was welcomed by the Italian Ambassador in Kosovo, Michael Louis Giffoni, along with the Italian Senior in Kosovo, Brigadier General Enrico Spagnoli, and by Colonel Andrea Massucci, Commander of the Air Task Force (TFA) in Gjakova.
At the end of the ceremony at the MNBGW, the Chief of the General Staff of the Defense returned to AMIK Airport where, after signing the Honor Roll, he wanted to meet the personnel of the Air Force. In his speech, General Abrate emphasized that, as Commander of the MNBGW in 2000, he saw the airport being born and appreciated the evolution it has undergone over the years. He emphasized the importance of the presence of the AM contingent in Kosovo, highlighting the great commitment shown by the men and women in ‘blue’ who participate in Operations Outside the National Borders.
