Wednesday 13th April saw a visit to the 4th RTM by students from the ‘Francesco De Pinedo’ State Technical Aeronautical Institute of Rome. Colonel Antonio Celletti, Commander of the Department, welcomed the visitors in the main hall. Following an informative briefing on the Armed Force's operational activities and those of the Department, the students, accompanied by technical personnel, toured the TLC and Radar Laboratories and the Operations Room. The technical staff enthusiastically and helpfully explained the functioning of the new TLC and Weather equipment, flight assistance systems, radar installations, and how routine maintenance is carried out on the equipment supplied to the Armed Force.
During the visit, students, divided into small groups, also toured various mobile assets including, among other things, the mobile tower, the 40-foot mobile operations room, the mobile Tacan, and the modern equipment issued to the Armed Forces. The initiative's primary objective was to strengthen the link between school and work, and furthermore, the visit proved to be extremely educational as it allowed the students to gain insight into a technical aeronautical reality as a final vocational goal of their educational path.
