The surveillance visit at the 2nd Missile Maintenance Department in Padua has successfully concluded. The audit activity was conducted by the inspection team from RINA Services S.p.A., the body responsible for evaluation and certification, comprising Team Leader Mauro D’Ascenzi and Co-Teamer Stefano Sistini.
Document review, examination of the relevant departments, and staff interviews have highlighted the maturity achieved by the Department in the quality sector, confirming its compliance with industry regulations. In this regard, the assessors expressed their appreciation for the work carried out to date, the results achieved, and the Department's and staff's commitment to continuing the process of continuous improvement initiated in February 2006, when the Quality Management System Certification was obtained according to the UNI EN ISO 9001:2000 standard.
At the end of the visit, the Commander of the 2nd R.M.M., Colonel Giovanni Battista Vicinanza, presented the Unit's Crest to the RINA inspectors.
The 2nd Missile Maintenance Department, subordinate to the 2nd Division of the Air Force Logistics Command, ensures the technical-logistical-maintenance management of the HH-212 helicopter, Air Defence Surface-to-Air missile systems, onboard armament, and ground armament supplied to the Air Force. It also carries out the functions of Air Force Garrison Command, guaranteeing logistical and administrative support to all Air Force Entities in the Padua area.
