Friday 19th February in Florence the course closing ceremony in the presence of Gen. S.A. Gargini. The event was attended by the Commander of the AM Schools / 3rd Air Region of Bari, Air Squad General Giampiero Gargini, the Commander of ISMA, Air Brigadier General Claudio Salerno, the Rector of the University of Florence, Prof. Alberto Tesi, along with the Dean of the Faculty of Political Science of the Florentine University, Prof. Franca Maria Alacevich, and the course coordinator, Prof. Luciano Bozzo.
The ceremony began with a welcoming address by the ISMA Commander, who thanked all those present, particularly the representatives of the University of Florence, who once again by their presence wished to bear witness to the close collaborative relationship between the Air Force and the Florentine University. Professor Bozzo retraced the historical events that led to the creation of the course: a major undertaking that, thanks above all to the work of General Gargini, the former Rector of the University, Professor Augusto Marinelli, and Colonel Sergio Villa, former Director of Studies of the ISMA, was successfully brought to fruition.
“With the creation of the Master's course, we have achieved a result of the highest calibre that only two years ago seemed almost impossible,” stated General Gargini, highlighting how the work carried out was “complex and collaborative”. The Commander of the A.M. Schools/3rd Air Region then congratulated the attendees on the excellent results achieved and wished them a future full of satisfaction. The ceremony then concluded with the presentation of the Master's diplomas to all the attendees, first and foremost to Captain Alfredo Pietrolucci, a pilot from the 46th Air Brigade of Pisa, who, having brilliantly passed the course of study with top marks and distinction, received his certificate directly from the hands of the Rector of the University of Florence.
