Aspiring Air Force Academy Pilot Officers in Pozzuoli have attended the “Basic Mountain Survival Course.” The course is part of the planned curriculum and aims for participants to acquire basic knowledge for survival in a mountain environment, improve physical performance, and develop the ability to manage physical and psychological stress.
The training course is structured into theoretical-practical lessons on first.
The course was conducted by qualified and expert Italian Air Force instructors and is compulsory for all flying personnel of the Armed Force and for fixed flight crews.
Thanks to the abundant snowfall, participants were able to build robust shelters, allowing them to experience the physical and psychological challenges of a night spent outdoors, under the careful and constant supervision of instructors and medical staff.
