Lieutenant Andrea Maida has earned his Military Pilot's wings.
“The guest speaker at the ceremony was Maj. Gen. Richard T. Devereaux – Director, Operational Planning, Policy and Strategy, Deputy Chief of Staff, Operations, Plans and Requirements, Headquarters U.S. Air Force, Washington, D.C. Maj. Gen. Devereaux, formerly Commander of the 82nd Training Wing at Sheppard AFB, addressed Lt. Maida during his address, praising him for his excellent integration into the class and his uncommon ”officership.’ The General, speaking to the newly graduated officers, reminded them of the importance of being officers before pilots, so as to always be credible “leaders” capable of completing missions in the most diverse and complex theatres of operation. The presentation of the wings was preceded by the awarding of prizes to students who had distinguished themselves during the course, and this phase held the pleasant surprise of seeing Lt. Maida receive the award reserved for the student who achieved the best results in the theoretical study phase (so-called Academics). Lieutenant Maida, with his commendable commitment, has continued the tradition of excellence that distinguishes attendees from our Air Force in US school settings. Lieutenant Colonel Michele Minonne – Head of RAMI at Sheppard – also on behalf of the Commander of AM/3rd RA Schools, expressed his well-deserved congratulations to the newly qualified officer for his high level of commitment, along with best wishes for success in his operational career at the 51st Wing in Istrana.
