The “train of the hero”, which left from Aquileia, made a stop in Ferrara before arriving at its destination in Rome
The event, organized by the Air Operations Command (COA) of Poggio Renatico, aroused great interest and emotion, as witnessed by the presence of numerous local authorities, including the Prefect of Ferrara, the Associations of Military and Combatant Organizations, and students from some high schools in the city.
Upon the arrival of the train, the platform was first set up in the rear of the convoy, with the brazier, the cannon barrel and a box containing the Tricolore covering the coffin of the unknown soldier during the journey. Subsequently, the traveling historical-photographic exhibition was inaugurated on four carriages, where the specially designated staff provided explanations and information to the numerous visitors, who literally rushed the convoy.
The train departed for Bologna station around 20:00 accompanied by the notes of “La legenda del Piave” performed by the “G. Verdi” Philharmonic Band of Cona, from Ferrara.
