ColonelCazzaniga will go on to hold the position of Head of the Public Information Office of the Air Force Chief of Staff. ColonelMorelli, who comes from the Combat Forces Command in Milan, attended the Air Force Academy in Pozzuoli (Naples) in 1987 with the ‘Grifo IV‘ course and obtained his Military Pilot's licence on the T-38 aircraft at the Sheppard base (Texas - USA) in 1992. After obtaining his qualification on the TF-104G fighter aircraft, he was assigned to the 12th Group of the 36th Wing at Gioia del Colle (Bari) where he achieved combat readiness in the Interceptor Fighter role on the F-104ASA aircraft. In 1995, he carried out the conversion on the Tornado F3 ADV aircraft in England and, having obtained combat readiness, took part in operations in Bosnia, Albania and Kosovo. In 1998 he attended the ’Weapon Instructor‘ course at the 56th OCU (Operational Conversion Unit) Group of the Royal Air Force, to which he was then assigned in 2001 as an Exchange Pilot as an instructor on the Tornado F3 ADV. In 2004, he carried out the conversion on F-16 ADF aircraft at the USAF base in Tucson and subsequently operated from the 37th Trapani Wing as Commander of the 10th Fighter Group. Since June 2008, he has held the position of Chief of the Air Defence Operations Office of the Combat Forces Command in Milan. In June 2009, he was in charge of L'Aquila airport and was directly involved in Operation ’Gran Sasso' and the G8 international event. He has over 3,000 flight hours in combat aircraft to his credit.
