In Vigna di Valle from Tuesday 9 February for three weeks, a seminar is being held aimed at smokers, ex-smokers and parents with teenage children. The seminar is aimed at smokers, ex-smokers and parents with teenage children who work at the water sports center and is structured into six weekly meetings of approximately one hour and fifteen minutes each. The purpose of the meetings is to try to create a space for reflection and listening where participants can express their concerns and difficulties related to tobacco addiction. The seminar will conclude with the administration of a questionnaire to the participants for statistical data collection. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), tobacco smoking is the leading preventable cause of morbidity and mortality in the Western world. The Ministry of Health, in line with the provisions regarding health promotion interventions, information, communication and training, contained in the World Health Organization Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (FCTC), which came into force in February 2005 and was ratified in Italy in July 2008, has identified priority areas for intervention such as schools, healthcare personnel, public administration offices, and living and working environments, because it is in these places that tobacco consumption occurs most frequently.
