Tuesday 10 November: Delivery of the Management Quality Certificate. 16-19 November: ‘Cyber Shot ‘09’ exercise and on Monday 23 November: Visit from Master's students from the University of Rome. From 16 to 19 November, the ‘Cyber Shot ‘09’ exercise took place. The Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-AM), which is part of the Aeronet Management Group of ReSIA, was the main participant, with the collaboration of the General Security Department (RGS). During the training, a series of cyber attacks were simulated on the Air Force network. Following an initial analysis by the RGS, the CERT-AM implemented a series of actions and countermeasures, as provided for by the relevant directives, such as adding IPs to banned lists, issuing alert messages to network users, and informing the Defence CERT to make other Armed Forces and external bodies aware of the problem. The CERT-AM is increasingly involved in real-world activities like those simulated. The purpose of ‘Cyber Shot ‘09’ is to verify information exchange procedures and decision-making processes for responding to cyber incidents, including those affecting national critical infrastructure, as well as to train CERT and Security Operation Centre (SOC) personnel in national and international coordination activities to counter cyber threats. This exercise, which involved external institutional bodies from outside the Ministry of Defence (Enav, Ministry of Cultural Heritage, CERT-SPC, CNAIPIC, etc.), was attended by the bodies and commands responsible for the operational management and security of the Defence's unclassified telecommunications networks.
On Monday 23rd November, the University of Rome ’Tor Vergata‘ Masters in Procurement Management hosted a visit from its lecturers and students. During the visit, Colonel Lolli explained the functionalities of SiLEF (Integrated Logistics Information System for the Management of Complex Systems), while VITROCISET, the system’s supplier, presented its potential within the Italian Air Force's Supply Chain, a topic covered in the Master’s programme. General Officer Benedetto Salvia from the Air Force Engineers Corps Office, General Officer Raffaele Tortora, Head of the Commissary and Administration Service of the Logistics Command, and Air Brigadier General Fernando Giancotti, Head of the 1st Department of the Air Force Staff, attended the meeting. The meeting concluded with a tour of the Department's areas and technological equipment.
