The Chief of Staff of the Joint Operations Command gave a conference entitled “The COI and Joint Operations”. The conference is part of the activities planned in the Study Plan, which includes talks by distinguished figures who are invited to discuss topics of absolute relevance and importance within their areas of expertise. These are considered fundamental for both the training process of aspiring Marshals and for broadening the technical-professional culture of permanent staff. After defining the tasks and structure of the Joint Operations Command, General Caputo illustrated the various phases of the planning process, focusing on the planning actors and work procedures. He then presented the main ongoing operations, both abroad and in the homeland, highlighting the importance of the concept of “jointness” which does not distort the peculiar characteristics of the individual Armed Forces but, rather, makes them complementary, increasing their efficiency and operational capability. At the end of the meeting, Colonel Coppola, Commander of the Air Force Marshals School and of the Viterbo Airport, in presenting General Caputo with the unit's crest, highlighted the importance of these conferences organised by the organisation, both for the level of the topics covered and for the speaker's absolutely qualified perspective. The day also provided an opportunity for General Caputo to visit the unit's facilities used for educational activities, and in particular, the sports facilities, the new building used for classrooms, the multimedia laboratories, the indoor shooting range, and the students' accommodation.
