The seminar dedicated to Air Traffic Control Officers with the assignment of Air Traffic Control Officer (SV/ATM), engaged in the security management activities in the field of Air Navigation Services, was held on Tuesday, November 3rd and Wednesday, November 4th.
The Seminar, held on an annual basis and intended for SV/ATM Officers of the Air Force engaged in the Safety Management System (SMS) at the Air Traffic Services Units, was organized by the Air Staff – General Office of Airspace and Meteorology (USAM) with the aim of assessing the results achieved in the SV/ATM sector approximately two years after the establishment of the Safety Management System in the Services supporting ATM (Air Information Service, Meteorological Service, Communication Service, Navigation and Surveillance).
The Seminar saw massive participation and almost all peripheral Departments with Airspace Control units sent their SV/ATM Officer. In-depth discussions were held on the field of Risk Assessment and Reduction, the Definition of Local Safety Objectives and the Quality System in the Weather sector, with the addition of a conference given by Colonel Enrico Garettini of the Flight Safety Inspectorate on the survey conducted with the OSES (Organizational Safety Effectiveness Survey) project among ATM personnel.
Brigadier General Massimo Capaldo, Head of the Meteorology Department of the USAM, closed the proceedings by highlighting the contribution of the Air Force to the national system of Air Navigation Services.
