More than forty high school students qualified for the finals. The day for the young high school students in the Lazio region began with a welcoming greeting from Colonel Elio Volpari, Commander of the 72nd Air Wing, who congratulated the students on the excellent results already achieved during the qualifying rounds and urged them to give their all in these final stages without forgetting that the goal should not be winning but always increasing their knowledge and skills. The finals took place at the computer stations in the INSIAU classroom of the Professional Education Group, which allowed the students to compete using computer applications that are widely used in Italy, usually used by pilots attending the School of Volodur during the theoretical training phase of the qualification and helicopter flight certification course. The competition was divided into three different tests, respectively on the “Computing Fundamental”, “Key Application” and “Living On Line” programs. The students, divided into groups, while waiting to take the tests, were accompanied by staff from the Stormo in a guided tour of the various divisions of the Department. The Word and Excel Championship in Informatics is the natural evolution of a challenge that for nine years has seen the students of the Higher Secondary School of the Lazio Region as protagonists, with the aim of bringing the students closer to the world of computers and its applications.
