From August 22 to 26 and from September 5 to 9, the Students of the Nibbio V Course of the Air Academy participated in the survival course at sea.
The bay of Porto Conte served as the perfect setting for the various training activities involving the very young Junior Pilots of the Nibbio V Course. These latter had to undergo and pass multiple tests of aquatic ability and endurance (swimming in apnea, recovering a small weight at a depth of 2 meters, paragliding at sea from an AB-212 helicopter and subsequent recovery using a winch). Furthermore, all the participants took part in numerous briefings on the use of the means of survival at sea, provided to all A.M. personnel, and on the use of tactics and behaviors to be followed in case of emergencies that might occur at sea. The remaining Apprentice Pilots of the Nibbio V Course and some foreign participants, part of the collaboration program between the European Aeronautic Academies (E.U.A.F.A.), carried out the same training activity from September 5 to 9 in the waters off the beautiful island of Nisida (Na).
