For the European-level sporting event, which reached its 34th edition, there was a participation of over 100 competitor of which only one-third are Italian. Among the most represented foreign nations are Austria, Germany, France and Hungary. The competitions were divided into categories: aerobatic gliders (no longer than 30 cm wingspan) and super-gliders (4 to 6 metres wingspan), the latter reaching speeds over 250 km/h. Thousands of visitors flocked to the Italian Air Force stand over the two days of racing, aided by favourable weather and the natural setting which contributed to creating an ideal situation to enjoy the glider flight, the sun and the wind.
