The Conference on Wednesday 16th December at Palazzo Aeronautica The conference will open in the presence of General Vincenzo Camporini, Chief of the Defence Staff, Air Squad General Daniele Tei, Chief of Staff of the Italian Air Force, Air Squad General Giuseppe Marani, Logistics Commander, and Chief Inspector General Ottavio Sarlo, Head of the Italian Air Force Medical Corps. The conference aims to present a concrete and concise status report on the European aeromedical reality, with particular reference to organisation, medical examination protocols and workloads, as well as presenting the corresponding national data, highlighting the prerogatives of the Italian Air Force's Medico-Legal Institutes. In particular, the activities of the IMIs of the United Kingdom, France, Germany and Spain will be illustrated. During the day, under the direction of Brigadier General Piervalerio Manfroni, Director of the Rome IML, the following speakers will take turns: – Colonel Marco Lucertini, ‘The English Institute of Aviation and Space Medicine’; – Colonel Pasquale Violante ‘The French Institute of Aerospace Medicine’; – Lieutenant Colonel Claudio De Angelis ‘The Spanish Institute of Aerospace Medicine’; – Colonel Marco Falomi ‘The German Institute of Aerospace Medicine’; – Brigadier General Silvio Porcù ‘The Milan Air Force Legal Medical Institute’; – Colonel Giuseppe Ciniglio Appiani ‘The Aerospace and Aviation Medicine Department of the Flight Test Centre’.
