Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th May, at the Aeroclub of Ferrara, in collaboration with COA of Poggio Renatico and the Italian Air Force Association – Ferrara Section
The inauguration of the Festival, dedicated to children, took place on Saturday 7 May, at 3:30 PM, with the launch of expert parachutists who landed in a ‘heart’ formed by volunteers and the low-altitude flyover of the area by an aeroplane.
The Air Operations Command (COA) at Poggio Renatico (Ferrara) contributed to the excellent success of the event by setting up a historical photographic exhibition of the Italian Air Force from its establishment in 1923 to the present day in the hangar of the Aeroclub, in collaboration with the Air Force Association (AAA) – Ferrara Section. It was also possible to closely observe the various uniforms and models of historical and current aircraft of the Armed Forces.
Throughout the festival, a flight simulator called ‘Celestino’, built by the ’AAA Ferrara Section’, took children ‘flying’. They also received a certificate of participation as a souvenir. All proceeds from the event will be donated to relevant projects.
The participation of the Air Force in such activities, promoted by voluntary associations, underlines once again the attention and solidarity that men and women in uniform demonstrate every day towards less fortunate citizens.
