It is the second visit of 2013 following that of the Jordanian Air Force. Three Major pilots, hailing from units assigned to Search and Rescue (SAR) duties, spent time working closely with the personnel of the Flight Groups, following the various phases that daily characterise the training activity of the Italian Air Force's Romagna-based Wing. At the end of the visit, Colonel Franco Trozzi, Commander of the 15th Wing, in bidding farewell to the delegation, underlined the importance of these exchange opportunities with a view to mutual understanding and the joint enhancement of respective operational procedures and capabilities. The meeting concluded with the presentation of the Wing Crest by the Commander of the 15th Wing. The Italian Air Force's 15th Wing guarantees 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, the search and rescue of flight crews in difficulty, whilst also contributing to public utility activities such as the search for missing persons at sea or in the mountains, emergency medical transport of patients in imminent danger of life and the rescue of severely traumatised individuals. Since its establishment to date, the crews of the 15th Wing have saved over 7,000 lives in danger.
