The event took place at the auditorium of the Guardia di Finanza Student Legion. General Ottone, after extending a warm welcome and thanks to the many civil, religious and military authorities present, emphasised how the event was “opportunity to strengthen the relations between the Armed Forces and local institutions and the city of Bari”.
A particularly engaging moment of the evening was the dedication of a piece of music to Captain Marco Partipilo, a pilot officer from Bari who died in the tragic aircraft accident involving the HH-3F of the 84th SAR of Brindisi on 23 October 2008. The audience gave him a long and heartfelt round of applause. The Inter-Force concert also provided an opportunity to raise funds for charity for the children of the Paediatric Haematology-Oncology Department of the Bari Polyclinic, in support of the ’Bien être“ project, which through Adapted Physical Activity aims to boost self-esteem, the re-evaluation of body image, socialisation, respect for rules, the ownership of surrounding spaces, but also and above all physiological objectives such as the improvement of cardiovascular and respiratory endurance, which are often compromised during cancer treatment. The Inter-Force Military Band was composed of the Fanfare of the Schools Command of the Italian Air Force / 3rd Air Region, the Band of the Pinerolo Mechanised Brigade, and the Fanfare of the Bari Financial Police Cadet School.
