The 1st indoctrination seminar for personnel employed in local armouries was held at the 2nd Missile Maintenance Department in Padua. The aim of the seminar is to indoctrinate armoury managers on the use of the SiLEF system's functionalities for the logistical and maintenance management of all ground-based armaments present in the Italian Air Force, in order to obtain a complete overview of the systems in question, thereby enabling prompt resolution of issues related to spare parts procurement.
Specifically, the course cycle enables attendees to: configure the ground armament in their inventories via the SiLEF system, update the service life of individual portable weapons, move efficient and inefficient materials via SiLEF, and finally, consult the registration and logistical data sheets of the managed systems. For the year 2012, a further 11 seminars are planned, attended by approximately 135 NCOs from all branches of the Armed Force. The 2nd Missile Maintenance Department of Padua, reporting to the 2nd Division of the Air Force Logistics Command, ensures the technical-logistical-maintenance management of the HH-212 helicopter, of the Air-to-Ground Air Defence missile systems, of on-board armament, and of the ground armament issued to the Air Force. The Department also performs the functions of Air Force Garrison Command, guaranteeing logistical and administrative support to all Armed Force entities in the Padua area.
