The Symposium was held in Istanbul, at the Turkish Air Force War School. The event saw the gathering of qualified representatives from the military world who freely exchanged thoughts and ideas on the past, present, and future of air power. Formally opened by the Chief of Staff of the Turkish Air Force General Akin Ozturk, the conference saw the participation of Air Force General Mirco Zuliani, as keynote speaker. In his speech, the Deputy Commander of the Allied Supreme Command for Transformation aimed to emphasize the need for a paradigm shift in the acquisition process of weapon systems. Furthermore, he also noted that the growing proliferation of computer systems risks turning technological innovation in this field into a weak link in the process.
