The cycle of visits by the A.A.A. Sections to the logistical and educational facilities of the Loreto School continues. The group of about 25 people, accompanied by the President of the Section, Brigadier General Francesco Gianesin (Cong.), was welcomed by the Commander of SLEAM, Colonel Angelo Balestrino, who presented a briefing on the facilities and institutional activities of the Department, which is engaged daily in the linguistic sector. The Veneto section of the Association then laid a wreath at the monument to the Fallen of the Aeronautic Corps on the flag plaza of the Department and subsequently visited the exhibition “Italian Wings – Between Sky and Sea on the Five Continents”. The exhibition, curated by the A.M. Historical Museum of Vigna di Valle (Rome), is on display at Villa Bonci, a historic 19th-century residence within SLEAM that was first owned by tenor Alessandro Bonci and then by the National Opera of the Sons of Aviators (ONFA), the meritorious moral entity that from 1930 until the 1980s carried out its ‘direct“ assistance activities in the Marian city in favor of the orphans of aviators. The visit ended with the exchange of commemorative items to seal the day of ”Technical update and tourist-cultural entertainment”After being part of the aeronautical community at the Department of the Italian Air Force, present in Loreto and Porto Potenza Picena (Macerata), with its educational offer that includes language courses, particularly English, also in e-learning mode. SLEAM primarily meets the linguistic training needs of the personnel of the Italian Air Force in the specific field of Aviation English, and to some extent of the Army, Navy, Carabinieri and Forest Service of the State. In addition to the English language courses, Italian courses are also provided for foreign military personnel, and annual assessments of language proficiency are carried out through a standard NATO test (Joint Forces Language Test – JFLT) necessary for military personnel to operate in their foreign duty stations.
