General Rizzo, Head of the Military Air Force Weapons Department, visits the 2nd Flight and the 313th Group of Acrobatic Training
The Commander of the 2nd Air Wing, Col. Pil. Stefano Tessaro, and the Commander of the National Acrobatics Patrol, Major Pil. Jan Slangen, welcomed him.
The visit was an opportunity for General Rizzo to follow closely the operations that the two Departments carry out daily in fulfillment of their mission assigned by the Higher Authorities of the Armed Forces.
In the circumstances, the Senior Officer witnessed a training flight of the Tricolour Arrows and visited the hangar where the MB-339 PANs are maintained.
The visit concluded at one of the missile batteries of the “SPADA” system, as the Department’s equipment as the missile production center of the Armed Forces.
After the traditional signing of the honor rolls of the two Departments, the General wished to express his appreciation for the professionalism and the results that the personnel of the Rivolto Base are able to guarantee continuously and with commitment to the Italian Air Force and the country.
The Role of Weapons is an essential component of the operational, logistical and functional organization of the Air Force, which, with its Officers (about a third of the total of the Armed Forces), performs important functions of command, direction, control, study and management of the many activities of the blue-winged force.
