Every year, thousands of hours of flight are performed by the aircraft of the 31st Ciampino Squadron, the 14th Pratica di Mare Squadron, and the 46th Pisa Air Brigade, all of which are always on the front line in case of emergency. The role of command is essential, and it is carried out by the operational rooms of the Armed Forces, where officers and non-commissioned officers work round the clock to coordinate with all external requesting parties – Prefectures, hospitals, embassies, and other Dicasteries – as well as with the flight units themselves.
