“On 7 November 2017, in the Main Hall of the “G. Garibaldi” Classical Lyceum in Palermo, the National President of the National Association of Families of Fallen and Disabled Airmen – Air Squadron General (ret.) Tiziano Tosi – awarded a scholarship, dedicated to the memory of the late Major Giuseppe Palminteri, to Federico Maggio, a student in class 5M who, during the last school year, achieved the best results among all fourth-year students at the Garibaldi Lyceum, an institution once attended by the Officer with exemplary success. Mrs Laura and Mr Giuseppe, Major Palminteri's parents, presented the scholarship certificate to the young Federico. Witnessing the event, alongside the parents, were the awardee's classmates and numerous teachers; particularly significant and touching was also the presence of some of Giuseppe's former teachers and classmates. The organisation of the simple yet moving ceremony was handled with particular sensitivity and effectiveness by the Headteacher and her Deputy Head. Adding prestige to the event were the representatives of the Palermo AAA Section together with the President of the city's ANFCMA Section.
