The Boeing KC-767A aircraft of the Air Force has reached the important milestone of 3,000 flight hours in Theatre of Operations. With the flight of January 3, 2017, the Boeing KC-767A aircraft of the Air Force has reached the important milestone of 3,000 flight hours in Theatre of Operations. The KC-767A, deployed in Kuwait at the Abdullah al Mubarak base as part of the national “Prima Parthica” operation and the international “Inherent Resolve”, performs aerial refueling operations in support of the coalition to fight Daesh, maximizing the amount of fuel available in flight and remaining “on station” for any contingency, effectively providing a decisive tool to the air power by transferring fuel for the prolonged stay of tactical assets in areas of operations on the “Front Line”. The 3000 hours of flight time achieved by the Tanker represent an important and significant milestone for the activity carried out by the Italian contingent deployed in Kuwait and are a demonstration of the commitment, dedication and professionalism of the Air Force personnel.
Since October 2014, the KC767A aircraft has been deployed within the Breus Task Group of the Air-Kuwait Task Force and employs personnel from the 14th Flight Squadron from Pratica di Mare. The Air Task Force in Kuwait has been operating since October 2014 with the task of conducting intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance, and aerial refueling operations. It employs Predator, AMX, and Boeing KC767 tankers deployed at the Ali Al Salem, Ahmed Al Jaber, and Ali AL Mubarak Air Bases in accordance with a complex but perfectly integrated and synergistic arrangement with the various components of the international coalition.
