In the men’s foil world cup circuit, the world cup went to the A.M. foilist. Yesterday, July 24, the Parisian stage of the men’s foil world cup circuit concluded. The 1st Aviere Scelto Alessio Foconi won the gold medal in the individual foil event, thus celebrating his second success in his career after the trophy won in December 2016 in Turin.

Alessio Foconi reached the podium after defeating the British Richard Kruse 15-7 in the quarterfinals. His path to the top step of the podium had already begun with the victory of 15-11 over the American Mathieu, continuing with the victory of 15-12 over the South Korean Heo and then against the Frenchman Auclin by 15-8.
Yesterday’s completely blue victory in France was a triumph that, in addition to the gold medal won by the 29-year-old Ternan from the Italian Air Force, saw the two Italians Daniele Garozzo and Giorgio Avola climb onto the other podiums.
With Foconi, the Italian individual foil team regained the world title after seven years since the last victory. The last person to win the same title was Andrea Cassarà in 2011.
