“Aeroaccademia Volleyball Wins Inaugural Match
Pozzuoli, 11 January 2018 – The first match of the promotional championship of the National Educational Sports Centre (C.S.E.N.) for volleyball, in which the mixed team of the Institute, named “Aeroaccademia Volley”, is participating again this year, was held in the gymnasium of the Air Force Academy. The young athletes, from all current courses of instruction, beat the team from “Nuova Vesuvio Volley” of Afragola (NA) by a score of 3 sets to 1, encouraged and warmly supported by the permanent staff of the Institute and a large and “noisy” contingent of cadets. The promotional championship, reserved for “open men’s” category teams, includes 10 clubs based in the provinces of Naples and Caserta among its participants. For the second consecutive year, an Air Force Academy volleyball team is participating in the promotional championship, following the excellent results of last year with participation in the national finals.
Even through sporting activities, both individual and team-based, the Air Force Academy promotes the positive values of healthy and fair competition that rewards merit.
The Air Force Academy is under the command of the Air Force Schools/3rd Air Region Command. Its purpose is to “Select, train and inspire exemplary commanders and professionals, determined to serve ‘as a team‘ with excellence and dedication our Country’.
