The Air Force patents two young Officers on Monday, November 5th, at Multi Crew Training Center of Pratica di Mare (CAE MC), two young Officers of the “Pegaso V” course have obtained the Military Pilot Certificate and received the turd eagle, symbol of the Military Pilot.
The ceremony, which took place at the Circolo Ufficiali di Pratica di Mare, was presided over by Brigadier General Paolo Tarantino, Chief of Staff of the Air Force Schools Command/3rd Air Region, and was attended by military and civilian authorities from the area.
In his opening remarks, the Commandant of the CAE MC, Colonel Cristiano Galli, addressed the patent applicants as follows: “People are the real element that you will have to learn to lead, motivate and inspire. You can decide to use the period as “military pilots” as a life-training ground, in which to exercise the knowledge, skills and competences that will then be needed in the future of your career; these will be the solid foundation of your being Commanders in a complex organization.” The Multi Crew world is a reality in which every result will lose its individual dimension to make you adopt the “team mentality.”
The Chief of Staff of the Air Force School Command/3rd Air Region then took the floor, addressing the young officers and emphasizing that the achieved milestone is not an end but only the beginning of a journey to build one’s own career that goes far beyond simply “flying.“ One must learn to earn the trust of the members of one’s own team, especially you young Multi Crew Military Pilots. How? By learning to become planets instead of stars, that is, learning to reflect the light of others rather than being its source. Lieutenant Alessandro A. and Luca V. were assigned to the KC 767 aircraft of the 14th Squadron at Pratica di Mare and the P72 aircraft of the 41st Squadron at Sigonella. The new pilots will from now on be called upon to perform delicate missions, such as in-flight refueling and maritime patrol.
The C.A.E. Multi Crew, a subsidiary of the Command School of the A.M./3rd R.A., based in Bari, provides advanced training for the pilots of the Italian Air Force and other Armed Forces or Armed Corps of the State according to the most modern guidelines of the “Multi Crew” concept for fixed-wing aircraft. These standards, which combine the requirements of military flight with the need to operate in a heterogeneous airspace for flight types, populated by commercial aircraft and governed by civil regulations, are considered valid both in the international military field and in the field of civil aviation.
