The journey continues through the professional skills of the Role of Weapons. General Baldacci expressed his appreciation for the skills and professionalism of the Munition and Armament Logistics Center in Orte. As part of the program of visits to the units under the command of Officers of the Role of Weapons or, in any case, in the Entities and Departments where the professional skills expressed by them emerge, the visit that General of Division Giorgio Baldacci carried out on June 15th to the Munition and Armament Logistics Center (CeLoMA) in Orte falls within this framework.
Upon his arrival at the Orte base, General Baldacci was welcomed by the Commander, Colonel Giuseppe Immellache, during the usual presentation briefing. He reviewed the many activities assigned to CeLoMA, retracing the historical phases that marked the life of the agency in terms of revising the organization and the tasks assigned. Indeed, placed under the command of the 2nd Division of the AM Logistics Command, CeLoMA assumed its current configuration on April 1st, 2016, following the reorganization of the 11th AM Central Depot, which became necessary to achieve the optimization of the activities of procurement, replenishment, management, and disposal of air and ground weaponry.
In this regard, Col. Immella emphasized the importance of the activity carried out by the department, with particular reference to the complex and delicate management of the supplied materials, also ensured by the two affiliated entities, namely the “Group Rifornimenti Area Nord”, located in Sanguinetto (VR), and the “Group Rifornimenti Area Sud” based in Francavilla Fontana (BR).
“As a General of the Role of Weapons, I had the opportunity to visit several realities entrusted to the Officers of the Role and today, at this important reality, I am once again proud of the competence and professionalism expressed by the staff of the Center.” Thus, Gen. Baldacci addressed the staff of CeLoMA in his speech, during which he shared some programmatic outlines of the Armed Forces and the organizational transformations recently concluded, including the implementation of the new professional architecture of the Role of Weapons and the transition of Officers into the new classification system of categories and specialties.
The visit then continued with a tour of the infrastructure, including the shooting range, an area intended as an experimental shooting range for land-based ballistic weapons supplied to the Armed Forces. After the signing of the Honor Roll, Col. Immella presented Gen. Baldacci with the traditional Department Crest, emphasizing the important significance the General’s visit to the Weapons Center had for the staff of the Center.
