Within its historic landscape setting, the Vigna di Valle Museum is hosting the second leg of an international “two-day event” to celebrate the 90th anniversary of Nobile's expedition with the airship Italia to the North Pole. On May 25th, the Historical Museum of Vigna di Valle hosted the second leg of a two-day international conference organised by the Italian Geographical Society (which formally organised the expedition at the time) to commemorate the achievement of General Umberto Nobile and his crew with the airship Italia to the North Pole. Vigna di Valle is the home of the Historical Museum of the Italian Air Force, where the most significant aircraft ever used by the Armed Force are preserved, including those employed in the period prior to its establishment. Vigna di Valle is also home to the Sports Centre of the Italian Air Force, where Armed Force athletes train for major world-class competitions.
