The handover of responsibilities between Colonel Vittorio Cencini and Colonel Giuseppe Lauriola Vigna di Valle, the oldest base of the Italian Air Force, is the location of the A.M. Historical Museum, where the most significant aircraft that have been in the Italian Air Force’s possession are kept, including those used in the period prior to its founding. In addition to preserving the historical heritage entrusted to it in the best possible condition, the Museum also carries out important restoration work within its own premises. Vigna di Valle is also the location of the Italian Air Force Sports Center, where athletes of the Forza Armata train to compete in the most important world-class competitions.
