The start of the teaching activities was preceded by the first flag-raising ceremony for the 40 new students and the sound of the “first bell”.
The new school year of 2019 has been inaugurated on Monday, September 16th. Military Aeronautics School “G. Douhet” in Florence.
For the 96 students in education, the important day began with the usual flag-raising ceremony: a particularly emotional moment for the new students. 1st Course, incorporated on September 5, which participated for the first time in the solemn act.
A short ceremony followed during which the Commander of the School, Colonel Mauro Nazzi, He addressed the young boys and girls – from all over Italy – and the teaching staff, offering his best wishes for the resumption of teaching activities.
The ceremony concluded with the “sound of the first bell”, a symbolic act with which the Headmaster of the newly enrolled students officially begins the school year.
In the days leading up to the start of the School, the students of Douhet They were involved in several activities. The boys and girls of the’Ursa (in the last year of schooling), after attending a course of “Public Speaking and Emotional Awareness”, carried out the usual “base tour”, consisting of a series of introductory visits to some operational units of the Armed Forces in the Lazio area. The Course Vega (in the second year at the School), after a series of lectures on the “Quick Memorization Techniques and Effective Learning”, he had the opportunity to visit some departments located in the Campania area.
The new first-year cadets, on the other hand, used the days of induction to learn the military forms to the best of their ability, and to get acquainted with the city of Rome. Florence through some guided visits and by conducting, with the teaching staff of the School, a series of introductory lessons aimed at starting the new school year in the best possible way.
The Military Aeronautics School “G. Douhet”, inaugurated in Florence in 2006 and dependent on the’Institute of Air Force Military Sciences, It is a secondary school of second level that offers the courses of the three-year program in the following fields: Classical and Scientific High School.
The institute aims to foster balanced growth in its young pupils who, during their three years at the School, alternate between study, sport, and numerous extra-curricular activities, some of which are aeronautically focused. This is a path of cultural, moral, and physical development, so that they can face future challenges as adults, whatever life choices they decide to make after obtaining their A-levels.
