The visit is part of the 2023-2024 Bilateral Cooperation Plan
From 15 to 18 May, a delegation of Officers from the Uzbek Air Force Military Higher School visited the Air Force Marshals' School/Air Base Command of Viterbo.
The activity falls within the Bilateral Cooperation Plan for the year 2023-2024, agreed between the General Department of Military International Cooperation of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Defence Staff.
Upon arrival on May 15th, the delegation was welcomed by the Commander of the Air Force Marshals School and of Viterbo Airport, Colonel Pilot Gianluca Spina.
The visit to the Institute began the following day with a welcome address by the Commander, followed by an informative briefing by the Training Command on the organisation of the A.M. Marshals' School and the development of the training course.
Following this, the delegation was able to visit the department's facilities, in particular the teaching rooms, the Sparviero Cinema Hall, the Tower Simulator, the Electronics and Avionics laboratories, concluding the day at the sports facilities.
On Friday 17 May, however, the visit included the indoor firing range and the historic Hangar S100, where some of the laboratories used by the Aeronautical Maintainers are set up.
The traditional exchange of crests and the signing of the honour book by the Head of Delegation marked the conclusion of formal activities.
The Italian Air Force Marshals School/Viterbo Airport Command is subordinate to the AM Schools Command and the 3rd Air Region of Bari; the Department has a dual mission: on one hand, as a university-level institution, it is responsible for the military and moral training and the specific professional instruction of the Marshals' Rank NCOs, as well as for the enhancement and updating of such training; on the other hand, as a military airport open to civilian traffic, it provides technical-operational support, air navigation services, and force-protection activities at Tommaso Fabbri Airport.
