Final day of training for pilots and crews of the T346A, EF-2000 and C27J aircraft
On Tuesday, May 14, 2024, it took place at the’Military Airport “Mario de Bernardi” in Pratica di Mare, The final day of training in the Technical presentations in flight of aircraft of the Experimental Flight Department.
A day dedicated to Capacity Aircraft techniques and ability of piloting the presenting crews, held in the presence of the Chief of the Air Staff, General S.A. Luca Goretti, of the Deputy Head of S.M.A., General S.A. Aurelio Colagrande, of the Logistics Commander, General S.A. Antonio Conserva and other High-Level Authorities of the Armed Forces.
The Authorities, welcomed by Gen. D.A. Alessandro De Lorenzo, Commander of the Air Division of Experimental Aeronautics and Space, and from Colonel Morgan Lovisa, The Commander of the Experimental Flight Department, went to the flight line of the 311th Flight Group to witness the technical demonstrations of the aircraft in flight.
The protagonists of the day have therefore become the presenting teams, which are guided from the ground by Commander of the 311th G.V., T.Col. Marco F., carried out the high-tech evolutions of the aircraft T-346A, Eurofighter Typhoon, C-27J Spartan. The Technical Demonstrations in Flight are one of the institutional activities of the Experimental Flight Department that are carried out by performing a series of manoeuvres of high technical and operational representativeness, which, although carried out within the limits of speed and altitude established by the regulations, have the purpose of demonstrating the capabilities of the aircraft provided to the Armed Forces.
At the end of the presentations of the three aircraft, the pilots and crews were welcomed by the military authorities and the personnel of the 311th deployed. The Commander of the RSV took the floor, Colonel Morgan Lovisa, who, after thanking the authorities present, focused attention on the hard work done throughout the entire training phase: “…today’s event celebrates the end of a long journey that required commitment and dedication, and which, beyond what is directly visible through the evolution of aircraft in flight, should be valued as an externalization of processes, analyses, capabilities, skills, methodologies, and traditions that guide the Department in its daily operations. The technical presentations in flight focus on the machine, on the technical and operational value of maneuvers rather than on individual capabilities. However, the ultimate result is only the tip of the iceberg of a teamwork effort involving crews, technical and maintenance service, and the engineering component in that synergy of efforts inherent in the scientific-experimental method, applied to the daily testing activity.”.

There are many challenges we must face, and I am sure that through you, with your skills, we will succeed in overcoming them. I wish you all the best for your season, because you are our ambassadors in Italy and the world and you will carry our Flag higher and higher...”.
The day ended with the signing of the’Honor Roll on behalf of General Goretti, who once again expressed his pride in the Experimental Flight Department.
