EUROFIGHTER: FIRST FLIGHT IN “FULL LOAD” CONFIGURATION FOR A 4TH WING FIGHTER JET

For the first time in Italy, the Eurofighter aircraft with four new GBU48 bombs, six missiles, two fuel tanks and the LDP Litening pod 4th Wing It reports to the Air Squad Command through the Combat Forces Command. Besides ensuring the operational conversion of the Armed Forces' pilots to be employed in the line Eurofighter F-2000 is responsible for guaranteeing the air defence of the area of national interest, contributing to the control, even in peacetime, of the relevant airspace and carrying out air defence operations in assigned areas, as part of participation in international crisis prevention and management operations. Specifically, the Wing is engaged in the alert service, 365 days a year, 24 hours a day, through the use of the Eurofighter aircraft.
