Air Force Fusiliers and Carabinieri conclude in Martina Franca an intense training activity of survival in a hostile environment and territory control Carabinieri Puglia Helicopter Hunter Squadron, born on 5 September 2018, has immediately and effectively operated in the most rugged areas of Apulia, carrying out widespread territorial control through patrols, sweeps, observation duties, helicopter-borne patrols and the search for fugitives and those evading capture. The Unit operates to combat the trafficking and production of narcotics, with particular reference to the cultivation of plantations in isolated areas, and provides support to Special Units operating in environmental matters. A further important contribution has also been made in search and rescue operations.
