Within the historic hangar of the 313th Aerobatic Training Group, numerous innovations are planned for the North American Tour.
Thursday 21 December, in Rivolto, in the historic hangar of Frecce Tricolori, the usual presentation of the Training and the Poster was held. National Acrobatic Patrol for the year 2024.
The event, presided over by Air Division General Luigi Del Bene, Commander of Combat Forces, has become a traditional meeting for the PAN, representing an important opportunity to reconnect with local realities, the Frecce Tricolori Clubs, friends, and enthusiasts.
During the event, Lieutenant Colonel Massimiliano Salvatore, Commander of the 313th Aerobatic Training Group, presented the new lineup that will star in the 64a acrobatic season of the Tricolour Arrows.
The key positions of Pony 1 (Training captain) and Pony 6 leader of the 2a section) Major Pierluigi Raspa and Major Franco Paolo Marocco are confirmed.
News, meanwhile, for the other positions in the Patrol: the flight of the Soloist, which took place last season, led by Lieutenant Colonel Salvatore, will feature Pony 10 Major Federico De Cecco.
For the understudy positions, the only confirmation is the first right understudy., Pony 3, with Captain Leonardo Leo, while the rest of the formation will see Captain Luca Pozzani as Pony 2, Captain Alessandro Sommariva in his capacity as Pony 4, Captain Simone Fanfarillo as Pony 5, Captain Giovanni Morello as Pony 8 and Major Oscar Del Do’ in the capacity of Pony 9.
The new addition to the ranks will instead be Captain Emanuele Bernuzzi, an Eurofighter pilot from 4th Fighter Wing of Grosseto, which will fly into the position of Pony 7, third left winger.
The evening then saw the public presentation of poster 2024 of the Frecce Tricolori, with an image depicting the coloured smoke trails of the MB339PAN in flight over the Strait of Messina.
The first copy of the poster was presented to General S.A. (Retired) Giuseppe Bernardis, former Commander of the PAN and former Chief of Staff of the Air Force, symbolising the strong bond with the tradition of those who have historically written the story of the 313th Acrobatic Training Group.
It was then dedicated a space to Charity, this year donated to ANDOS, “National Association of Women Operated on for Breast Cancer”, made possible also thanks to the precious contribution of Club Frecce Tricolori.
Finally, the presentation evening was a favourable opportunity to announce the appointments of the next “Tour” of the Frecce Tricolori - NAT24 (North American Tour 2024) – to be held between United States e Canada after more than 30 years of absence overseas. The Calendar A list of air events for 2024, including institutional flypasts and Italian Air Shows, will be published in the coming weeks.
